Another day, another court ordering the admin to continue SNAP for hungry families. If basic decency and humanity don’t compel this administration to assure food security for all Americans, then multiple federal court judges finding its actions unlawful must. apnews.com/article/snap...

❗️SNAP UPDATE: The appeals court denied the administration's request for a stay on yesterday's order in our lawsuit, requiring full SNAP benefits be paid today! Great news. BUT, the admin has already filed an emergency application to the Supreme Court and asked for a decision by 10:30pm. Stay tuned.

I’m in Palm Springs, CA, at Benevity Live for a plenary panel on Nonprofits at a Crossroads: the Way Forward. I urged the audience of 1500 corporate donors to use their positions of power/privilege to speak out, fund, and advocate to protect nonprofits in this time of existential threats.

Excruciating, crucial read. “You never forget the sight of children starving to death, so I wish White House officials could have been with me on this trip to South Sudan, where 70 percent of nutrition assistance has come from the United States.” www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

Opinion | Musk Said No One Has Died Since Aid Was Cut. That Isn’t True.

A journey through the front lines of global poverty shows that when the world’s richest men slash aid for the world’s poorest children, the result is sickness, starvation and death.

The President of the United States declares an “anti-democratic takeover orchestrated” by orgs (like National Council of Nonprofits) suing to stop the admin’s reckless, lawless actions. He signed this memo in the Oval Office, making attempted intimidation official WH policy. We won’t back down.

Last night we filed a NEW motion and declaration in our case of NCN v OMB. We're asking the judge to clarify that Continuum of Care (CoC) grants that’ve been awarded are covered under the court’s Preliminary Injunction preventing the administration from implementing broad federal funding freezes.

If you’ve any doubt the nonprofit sector faces an unprecedented existential threat, see yesterday’s Joe Rogan interview with Elon Musk. Remember - while his power is significant, ours is greater. When we unite to protect & advance the entire nonprofit sector, we are formidable, and we will win.
