If you told me 30 years ago that we were on a pathway to stripping away the ability to own video games, I would have said you were crazy. It's 2026 and the concept of renting video games is practically the industry standard, like Blockbuster has made a comeback. You don't own your games, you rent.

Another aspect I didn’t even consider with PlayStation’s plans to ditch physical. Just an outright betrayal to passionate devs that have likely always wanted to see their game released physically. It’s a milestone to hold something you’ve worked on so passionately in physical form.
