If you told me 30 years ago that we were on a pathway to stripping away the ability to own video games, I would have said you were crazy. It's 2026 and the concept of renting video games is practically the industry standard, like Blockbuster has made a comeback. You don't own your games, you rent.

Another aspect I didn’t even consider with PlayStation’s plans to ditch physical. Just an outright betrayal to passionate devs that have likely always wanted to see their game released physically. It’s a milestone to hold something you’ve worked on so passionately in physical form.

📖 Bytes of Game Ads 📺 War... War Never Changes... One of my favourite ads for 1997's Fallout, which began life as an official adaptation of the GURPS TTRPG. When the licence fell through, they adopted the SPECIAL system instead, though elements from GURPS remain.
