Father, husband, gamer, reader. PC gamer since 1990. Grew up playing Wing Commander, Doom, Quake, etc. Mostly play CRPGs & JRPGs these days.
Here's a bit of news you won't find at Gamescom: after 20 years, you can play Blue Dragon without an Xbox. A fanmade PC port arrives Friday, I've been playing it, and it's great:
Blue Dragon is finally free from the Xbox 360: a fantastic PC port unlocks the FPS, goes 4K, and more
This Xbox 360 recompilation proves how good fan ports can be when they aren't vibe-coded.

The whole realistic military shooter series. I love series like Doom, Quake, Wolfenstein, and classic FPS like Duke Nukem 3D, Blood, Shadow Warrior, Hexen, Sin, etc etc. But the whole Call of Duty, Medal of Honor, Battlefield, etc? Never appealed to me at all.
No hate, no dogpiling, just curious. For me, it's Skyrim. Don't know why, considering it should be exactly my kind of game, but it just didn't click for me.
@superevilmegacorp.bsky.social Hey all! Just picked up the physical TMNT Splintered Fate Deluxe Edition on Switch for my kiddo. Game is awesome! When we opened the package the trading cards weren’t inside. Were they limited to earlier copies, or did I get a shady dealer experience?

I’m so sorry for everyone at id Software affected by these layoffs. I know what it feels like to leave id while id goes on. It’s a strange and painful thing to step away from a place that holds so much of your work, friendships and history. 1/5
Privateer 2: The Darkening (1996)
I accidentally got re-addicted to JRPGs this past holiday season after my son asked to play the original Final Fantasy VII, after discovering Cloud and Sephiroth in Super Smash Bros. It has been a blast replaying old favorites and discovering new ones. The Octopath Traveler series is a delight!
Happy Father’s Day to my fellow dads out there!
