The majority of my thesis work is in this paper and it’s great to finally have it out for review. Spores have a lot of potential value as protein carriers in vaccines, catalysis, and more. We dreamed up some new methods, synthesized a lot of DNA, and tested >20 new spore proteins for display.
🚨🆕New manuscript🆕🚨from the lab!! Started by @biotechalchemist.bsky.social and completed by Todd Chappell. This work assesses the utility of >30 #spore coat proteins for #surfacedisplay - almost 3x currently described! We found that SscA is a great carrier not used before‼️ biorxiv.org/cgi/content/...
Picking up an old flow cytometer from a shuttered startup like a puppy from the pound, exciting, but I’m worried it’s going leak all over the floor.
