Getting back into the gym has been nice. Especially right now, it’s a needed coping mechanism.
Despite our efforts and around the clock care, Jake’s back half just never recovered. Today we made the compassionate decision to let him rest one final time in the comfort of our home. He truly was the best dog ever.
On Monday, our dog Jake had a fibrocartilaginous embolism (FCE) AKA a spinal stroke. In the span of an hour he went from running after a ball to completely paralyzed in his back legs. He spent two nights at the vet hospital and is back home with us.

He already knows you’re gonna pick him. Might as well just get over there and give him a ride in the pool. 🎨 @zaskroar.bsky.social
Why not join @belmontwyvern.bsky.social and escape some of that nasty sun? Pooltoy wyverns beat a typical pool floaty any day 🐲🎈
The last 48 hrs have been wild. I've: -Worked a 12 hr overnight shift -Slept for 4 hrs -Drove 6 hrs to Cedar Point. -Spent the night at Hotel Breakers. -Road 12 roller coasters in 6 hrs. -Checked out a day early and drove 6 hrs back home. 10/10 trip, amazing time with the husband.
Second longest run of my life. Kept my HR stable and maintained a steady pace. These zone 2 runs are really starting to pay off. 3 months until the half marathon.
I feel like I don’t have much to post about. Just kinda quietly living life.
New race day shoes! Broke them in with a quick 4 mile run!
Officially a triathlete! 🏊🚴🏃➡️ A year of training lead up to today. I achieved my goal of sub 1:30, coming in at 1:27. What an amazing experience!
Causally dropping my best run of the year a little over a week out from my triathlon.
Brick Day 🧱 Race distance. 12 mile bike ride followed by a 3 mile run. 2 week until my first triathlon. I’m so excited!
Low key kinda killing it at life right now. Husband is happy, work is great, workouts are progressing, and my social life is active. Plus lots of things to look forward to as the year continues.
