Remember when Pam Bondi lined up 16 alleged cop assailants for trophy pictures in January? Virtually all those cases fell apart, but DOJ used those imaginary assaults to excuse spying on MN's anti-ICE community. They were fake assaults to justify spying. emptywheel.net/2026/08/18/d...

This blockbuster story about DHS's and DOJ's joint investigation of individuals and orgs who committed no crimes should be getting ALL the attention. With a functional legislative branch, it would be kicking off a major Congressional investigation as well. www.nytimes.com/2026/08/13/u...

#ResistanceRoots Margaret “Mardy” Murie was born on this day in 1902 in Seattle. Known as the Grandmother of the Conservation Movement, she dedicated her life to protecting America’s wilderness, playing a key role in passing landmark environmental laws and establishing protected areas in Alaska. /1

Mardy Murie at her home near the Grand Tetons, 1953. Murie’s journey to becoming a conservation icon began in the gold rush settlements of frontier Alaska. Her path was shaped by a childhood on the edge of the wilderness and a chance meeting with a young field biologist. By trading a comfortable life with running water for a tent on the tundra, she transformed into a formidable naturalist and a leading voice for conservation legislation. Her legacy is physically stamped onto the U.S. map: millions of acres of protected wilderness that remain untamed because she chose to speak up for them. This conduct by ICE is unconscionable. ICE should know they cannot enter private property without a judicial warrant. Instead of complying with the law, ICE agents chose to threaten violence against a law firm because of whom they represent. We intend to investigate this incident.

This is one of MAGA’s creepiest propaganda tactics: scour the Instagram pages of 18 and 19-year-old sorority girls, turn their videos into political content, then invent a culture war by claiming “the libs are furious.” Nobody’s furious. It’s manufactured outrage. And it’s weird.

Trump's illegality is so outrageous that even the Roberts court, w/ its authoritarian-enabling tendencies, has been forced to turn him down again & again So a plaque replaces his name at the KC, tariffs return under a forced label & the ballroom ask goes to SCOTUS I explain for @ms.now👇 -TN

The courts keep blocking Trump. He keeps searching for loopholes.

A senior administration official says that Trump won’t allow his objectives “to be undermined simply because one tool may be limited by a court.”
