Every time I see how my hometown Kyiv is being attacked and destroyed by the Russians, I feel as if I’m being scratched by a thin knife, pierced by a thick needle. I’m telling myself it doesn’t matter what I feel – as long as people are alive. But my city is alive too, so it hurts every time.

It’s unfair – the phrase I’ve been repeating for years. I appeal to the highest values, but no one’s coming to balance the scales. Nobody will punish the evil. It’s just a concept we made to keep society in line. In the end, it’s the powerless who suffer. And can anyone stop that? I don’t think so.

We went to Copenhagen with @greenpeace.dk to remind everyone that rusty, leaky, old oil tankers go through European waters daily. We unfurled this banner right as one of them was going past. Not only do they leak oil, they fund Russia's missiles, tanks and bullets that kill Ukrainians daily.
