The tree planters we installed with the Horticultural Society of NY along Manhattan Ave are already adding some much-needed greenery in Greenpoint. Thanks to the excellent folks at The Hort for maintaining and watering them as they grow and the hard working ACE NY team for keeping planters clean.

Last year, longtime Downtown Brooklyn Partnership security officer Nicola Tanzi was senselessly killed. We co-named Lawrence & Willoughby in honor of Nicola’s tremendous service and dedication to our community and Downtown Bk Partnership installed a plaque at Abolitionist Place Park in his memory.

We co-named Willoughby & Duffield St in Downtown Brooklyn in honor of Ashok “Victor” Vora, a beloved neighborhood small business owner. Victor owned half a dozen stores in Downtown Brooklyn & cared deeply about his community. His family continues his legacy with Concord Market on Tillary.

It was great to check out safety tech on City vehicles w/ @NYCDCAS Commissioner Yume Kitasei. New audible turn alerts are being installed on City trucks & an expansion of intelligent speed assistance that prohibit speeding. These are smart & innovative safety interventions.
