I think I briefly played Mystic Quest quite some time before, but VI was the first I played for real. It was actually *after* I played Chrono Trigger on release. It's not my top favorite FF at this point, but it still holds a very special place in my heart.

Vinalo is fairly competent with basic household repairs and maintenance. Their father Tamido was something of a handyman along with his day job of miner, and made sure to teach his 'son' as much as he knew. Anything more serious and Vinalo *will* get a hold of someone more skilled.

RP Vinalo has sorta roughly aged in real time ever since I established their age at all, so they were *probably* mid-late 20s when ARR started. As it stands, Vinalo is currently on the cusp of 40, with their nameday being at the very end of the month.

Ah yes, another thing. Aarna doesn't know her literal nameday, and instead simply uses the date her dad found her: 10th of 3rd Astral. Likewise, she doesn't know her actual age, but is fairly certain she's somewhere close to 30.

I realize I've yet to formally introduce Aarna. Time to change that. This is Aarna Fachu, a Thavnairian Raen. She was orphaned at a young age, only finding family when a Lalafellin man from Limsa Lominsa decided to settle down on the tropical island nation after years of sailing. 1/?

Some slightly mixed feelings on a couple of the new racial customizations (removing the Viera bun nose shading is for cowards), but FINALLY decoupling Au ra horns and faces is a looooong time coming. Very glad to see it. However, Aarna is: Already Perfect. 🦎

Really, only two: Vinalo Mabunalo, who is my special bean that I have written extensively about, with years worth of RP. But now I have Aarna Fachu, who started as a repurposed/fantasia'd alt for other world FC access. Now she's a whole-ass person with a history and everything!

I understand that it *is* daunting to see that XIV is basically playing six rpgs in a row, but I truly see the strong focus on narrative as the game's greatest strength. I really don't want that ever to be treated as an expendable aspect of the game.

I really don’t think saying that people who want to skip most, if not all, of the story in a story-focused game will not actually really enjoy FFXIV is a hot take at all, yet people act like you’re some sort of gatekeeping lunatic if you say so.

In my experience, it's what I *don't* do that so so many SGE in DF do: being Eukrasian Prognosis uptime machines. It baffles me how many think they have to maintain full-party shields at ALL TIMES. They also seem to barely use any of their addersgall spenders/oGCDs at all. It's baffling!
