I just learned that Netflix paid for a documentary series called the “New Stanford Prison Experiment” and if you know what the original was, you understand the levels of rage flowing through every part of my body right now. I literally want to vomit at it being turned into entertainment.

I wish everyone could see the change in Uzi over the last 3.5 years. It’s phenomenal. Then, if my muscle spasmed or I stretched my foot, she’d take off. Tonight, I dropped a stitch marker next to/on her and she barely turned to look. She knows peace now. 😭

I need everyone to know that Lynn (grey) is a very normal size for a cat. 😭

Today would have been my dad’s birthday. I made an angel food cake (his favorite) for my coworkers. I decided I needed a vintage pan and ended up borrowing one from his friend who’d used the pan when he taught her to make a homemade angel food cake. Happy birthday, Daddy. I miss you every day. 🩷

I inherited a Betty Crocker cookbook from my dad that was published in the 1960s. It’s the greatest cookbook I’ve ever owned. All the recipes are perfect (except the jello tuna thing but we don’t talk about that). Any time I need a recipe, I’m going there first.

I’ve resigned myself to the fact that life mostly hasn’t gone my way and it’s not going to start. I have tried so hard for so long and I think I’m actually worse off than I was. I’m tired of fighting and advocating for myself. I’m just going to go through the motions for a while. I need a break.

Today is Gotcha Day for my sweet babies! We adopted them about a month after my dad passed and they have been with me through everything since. I had to fight for all 3 of them in my divorce and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done. They saved me as much as I saved them. I’m so lucky to have them. 🩷

I had a dream last night that was a combination of multiple of my recurring dreams (nightmares?) that just didn’t end with cameos from basically everyone significant in my childhood. I know that my subconscious was doing some work. I feel like I need therapy just to process the dream. 🙃🫠

I woke up in the middle of the night after having not done my workout for the third day in a row so I did it because shame. I’m doing body weight workouts while the food processor blade slice in my thumb heals. I’m pretty sure I’m actually dead now so going back to sleep shouldn’t be a problem.

I’ve been making myself a smoothie every day for quite awhile now and added avocado recently for the good fat. I can’t stand avocado but I’ll eat it if I can’t taste it. I think the avocado knows because I put 1 oz in and I have poured out exactly 1 oz every day. I might like it now. 😂
