Sold this original recently. Makes me wonder if I should offer some originals for sale. I never offer them. Maybe send a message if you have interest in something. I dunno.

Currently listening to Looking for Calvin and Hobbes by Nevin Martell. I'm on chapter 4 and so far it's much more enjoyable than the dreadful Schulz and Peanuts book I read a few months ago. I've already got more insight into the comic and the creator than I did in the other book's entirety.

Is there a RPG about 80s action movies that has rules for how vehicles ALWAYS explode upon impact or when shot in the gas tank or engine? Like if you force the bad guy off the road, then his car blows up, no question. Just a matter of how many dice of damage he takes.

Game design thoughts regarding wounds. I am fine with HP, but I thought maybe I'd go with this on the current project: Get hit, either make a luck or health roll or burn a meta point to survive. Failed roll means death. So the use of meta points (you don't know how many you have) is your lifeline.

Khaotic RPG by Joe and Kathleen Williams, 1994. Nice section showing timeline until 2030 and it includes this prescient prediction about gen AI taking over the movie industry. This came out in 1994 and so did Forrest Gump. Buzz in the air about Gump SFX probably influenced this?

Pic of game text describing movies and media stations of 2030 leaning into Virtual Reality. It says the biggest box office draws are Humphrey Bogart, Bette Davis, and Marilyn Monroe in all new movies (see next image)... made possible by computer compositing allowing creators to use old movies as creative fodder to make new movies.

"... most successful actors are actually computer simulations, completely indistinguishable from real people."

hmmmm

The game uses pools of d6s. If your Cunning is 4, then you roll 4d6 to do a Cunning thing. You add up all results of 1-3, ignoring 4-6. Then there's a little table stating what the result means, ala a FUDGE type of ranking like Terrible, Good, Great, etc. Skills add dice to your pool.

Picked up another Marquee Press game: Khaotic, a "schizotronic" RPG. Neat concept! Your team mind-projects into a "misshapen body bristling with psychotronic weapons" to another world. Then you come back and fight monsters in your human bodies. Thus the "schizo" element, I think. #TTRPG

Is there a Tunnels & Trolls retroclone? D&D has a bazillion of them, with Labyrinth Lord and OSE being mainstays. But I realized just now that I can't remember hearing about any T&T clones. There's no T&T OGL, as far as I know, so that would dampen it. But still. You can't copyright rules. Curious.

My Galaxy phone has this nasty habit. One day I can access it via my computer... next day I can't. Then I can't for a week or a month. Then I can again.... for a week or a month. Then I can't again. It's been that way since I got it. I guess when some useless update happens my computer can't see it

I adore cartoon animals in comics, movies, and games. I wrote Rabbits & Rangers and The Questing Beast as explicitly anthropomorphic RPGs. It's SUPER FUN to work with animal forms as the basis for RPG characters and I have a lot more I want to do in that vein.

This was a fun pick up off Etsy a while back. Someone collected a bunch of Marvel Hostess ads into a little book. But check it out... Cap's hitting the Super Serum too hard. Those aren't delicious Hostess Twinkies he's throwing.

#TTRPG You have 2 stats: Party Don't Party When you fail a Party roll, but also fail a Don't Party roll, that's when your GM really needs to be on their game. That's where the magic happens.

I hate this idea that if you don't support empire and genocide, you're somehow anti-semitic. Many of the greatest American left-wing liberationist figures have been Jewish. Abbie Hoffman is an American treasure. His Jewish values informed his activism.

Abbie Hoffman. Hero.

Expanded to include Sorcery, Truth, and Religion. Now we have a nice dirty dozen. These are called Drives, though Lick is the odd one... not so much a drive as an unknown factor in a life of crime and intrigue.

I have a #TTRPG in mind and these are the basic stats for characters: Sex Politics Drugs Alcohol Murder Theft War Art Luck It's safe to say this one is going to be rated R.

Hey everyone in the USA, I hope you're keeping yourselves hydrated and mentally secure in these times of overt fascism and absolute stupidity. It ain't easy. And to everyone else out there suffering varying degrees of tragedy as a result of all this bullshit, I'm so sorry. I hope we can fix it.

Geez. Went from making a zany space RPG to drawing a fat barbarian to writing a sword and sorcery RPG to fiddling with a cartoon animal RPG to writing a grimdark RPG based on a city called Hogbone ran by a cursed alcoholic Queen Regent. I am all over the place. Need to finish something soon.

Here's an old drawing of Wonder Woman. I can't seem to find the original scan. This is a pretty small JPG. I must have named it something else or lost it. Guess I need to rescan some of this really old stuff.
