The Masked Revenger! #pinupart I post this kind of junk over at @bloodredpinups.bsky.social if you dig it. Happy Sunday.

While having a nice salad, me and my wife checked out the first episode of the new Reacher season. Someone commented that "it would be political suicide" for a congressman to take a certain action related to a moral question. I laughed out loud. These fuckers can do anything and remain in power.
Spam comments on blog are so low effort. "What a thoughtful post! I shared with some friends who I know would appreciate it." "Your posts are a breath of fresh air! Wonderful and useful." With links to something for sale.
Death Card I was looking at Phil Foglio art this morning and doodled this little dude as a result.
It ain't right, that boy done saved the world a few times. Based on a Frank Robbins panel from Invaders 1. #Namor
Doodled this Ringwraith based on a Mike Ploog piece this morning. I like it. Ink wash
Who has this issue of Hymla the Horn? Goin' back to the mid 80s. The artist got real fucking sloppy with the corner box art. I read that he was jealous of Sergio Aragones and tried to match his pace but just kept cranking out sub-par work like issue 13, a disappointing let down with no demons in it.
Instagram sucks by way of being part of Meta, but it's still a hotbed of activity for small artists. I still browse it daily because there are so many awesome creators who post there more than anywhere else. It would be super cool to have the perfect platform, but it does not exist.
I got me one of them little Cheech Wizard figures. I don't collect stuff like this, but I do randomly indulge now and then. It's cute.
Is Bill Watterson the Kurt Cobain of comics? Not in terms of style, content, or tone. But values. Both resisted the lure to sell out, both reached amazing heights of popularity, and both peaced out early.
God bless Jello Biafra. And the Melvins too, I guess.

This has been a Spring/Summer of yard sales, estate sales, garage sales, and vendor malls. Finding lots of interesting things. Unfortunately no great weird finds in the sci-fi and fantasy area, but still. Here's a book of 20,000 words. The purpose is for transcribers to check spelling. Early 80s.
When you criticize society or government and someone says "it's funny that you're just now figuring it out" as if you can't make a criticism unless you made the same criticism in the fucking womb or something. It has strong "I'm into this band but you probably never heard of them" energy.
Butt rock? When did that label get coined?? It's a perfect fit. Puddle of Mudd... Creed... Definitely butt rock. Although I will jam to PoM's Control every single god damn time I hear it. That song kicks ass. Even a broken clock is right twice a day, they say.
Got my copy today! It is a delight and a wonder to behold. Dense with ideas and words and more ideas and tons of rich, luscious art. Articles about Bone, Drew Ford, and 2 of my faves Larry Todd and Dave Cooper! Robin is a treasure. Get some of his books, if you can.
In an hour from now (11am PT) sales will go LIVE for the new issue of GUTTER HUNTER in my store! The launch party is still A GO for 3pm, even though there is a drizzle of rain forecast for that time. The comics are in bags, and it's 20 degrees, so I'm not too stressed. cinemasewer.storenvy.com
Some SUPER COOL people don't hold the exact same beliefs as you. I'm not talking about hardcore fundamentals like human rights. But some fringe topics, such as "this creator is bad and problematic", may be be met with "Nah, he's cool". And you gotta learn to relax. Not everything is a battle.
Separating the art from the artist is a perennial debate, perhaps tiresomely so. But I was thinking about it when listening to this book about Calvin & Hobbes because Watterson fucking LIVES that separation. To the point you have wonder what the hell he's thinking. His public comments are strange-
Why do people hate on Judas Priest's Turbo Lover album so much? Slightly rhetorical, I KNOW why. But I love that fucking record. Private Property? Locked In? Turbo fucking Lover?? I'm throwing up the devil horns just thinking about it. It ain't no Screaming for Vengeance, but what is?
Hadn't done a pin-up in awhile. Was starting to jones pretty bad. Had to get my fix. Or should I say... my CURE? Aaaaay
I beat myself up for lack of focus but I made 48 books in the 32 years since I started self publishing. That's not terrible. I just get out of sorts when I go a long spell without making a book. I'm currently out of sorts.
Geez I bet Bill Watterson made the folks at Universal Press Syndicate age quickly. From their perspective, they gave up untold millions of dollars to placate the most difficult, stubborn, and valuable artist they ever had. I love it.
Sold this original recently. Makes me wonder if I should offer some originals for sale. I never offer them. Maybe send a message if you have interest in something. I dunno.
Mighty Micro Cinema #TTRPG •Pick movie as setting •Chargen = write ~100 word description •Underline 2 words •Task res = exploding 1d6 vs. TN (4-7) •+1d6 for cool description •+1d6 for useful underlined word •Underline 1 word or add 7 words after adventure •Gamble +1d6; succeed or catastrophic result
Currently listening to Looking for Calvin and Hobbes by Nevin Martell. I'm on chapter 4 and so far it's much more enjoyable than the dreadful Schulz and Peanuts book I read a few months ago. I've already got more insight into the comic and the creator than I did in the other book's entirety.
Is there a RPG about 80s action movies that has rules for how vehicles ALWAYS explode upon impact or when shot in the gas tank or engine? Like if you force the bad guy off the road, then his car blows up, no question. Just a matter of how many dice of damage he takes.
Game design thoughts regarding wounds. I am fine with HP, but I thought maybe I'd go with this on the current project: Get hit, either make a luck or health roll or burn a meta point to survive. Failed roll means death. So the use of meta points (you don't know how many you have) is your lifeline.
