Another Chiffchaff bonanza with a day total of 350, of those another 90 were ringed. There wasn't much variety on the land, but another 145 Blackcaps were seen. The seawatching provided an unexpected 52 Balearic Shearwaters. #kentbirding

Continued presence of the Western Bonelli's Warbler was certainly the highlight of the day. Hirundines in force again with 7440 Swallow and 800 House Martin out to sea. The bushes were quieter with 22 Willow, 65 Chiffchaff, 70 Blackcap, a Spotted Flycatcher, a Redstart and a Whinchat. #kentbirding

Just another day at a drizzly Dungeness. Western Bonelli's Warbler courtesy of Tom Rosas, another White-winged Black Tern, the juvenile Red-necked Phalarope being dive bombed by one other many Sand Martins over the lake, 1 of several Black Terns that passed the fishing boats this afternoon.
An unforgettable afternoon at the Dungeness Fishing Boats when at c14:15 I picked up a fabulous BROWN BOOBY feeding amongst a group of Gannets offshore. Panic ensued but the 5 of us got on the bird before MC summoned more eyes from DBO & local birding community. Photos obtained by others… 🌟 Bird !!!

A day of hirundines, with at least 2000 House Martin and 3700 Swallow through, but numbers of Sand Martins dwindling with just 20 noted. For about an hour or so, the House Martins were low enough to catch and 146 were ringed. #kentbirding
A decent drop of migrants across the area today including a Short-eared Owl, three White Stork, two Cattle Egret, five Grey Heron, 72 Willow Warbler, 57 Chiffchaff, three Dartford Warbler, 11 Lesser Whitethroat, 25 Wheatear, 41 Stonechat, four Whinchat and seven Spotted Flycatcher. #kentbirding
There was still a scattering of birds on land with an increase of Robin to 40 also 20 Willow Warbler, 43 Blackcap, two Spotted and a Pied Flycatcher, seven Wheatear and two Whinchat. Still a few Clouded Yellows about, with four seen. A Golden Oriole on the RSPB reserve was a surprise this eve!
Another good day with the highlights coming from both over land and sea - best being 26 Black Tern, 88 Arctic Skua, a Sooty Shearwater, eight Balearic Shearwater all mostly west offshore while Osprey, Honey Buzzard, 600 Sand Martin, 2340 Swallow, 270 House Martin, 4 Tree Pipit overhead #kentbirding
Very decent day with birds overhead and on the land with Honey Buzzard, 250 Swallow, 640 House Martin, 60 Willow Warbler, 20 Blackcap, 24 Whitethroat, five Spotted Flycatcher, a Redstart, a Whinchat, 11 Wheatear, 23 Yellow Wagtail, three Grey Wagtail and best of all, Wryneck. #kentbirding

A day of mostly seawatching, with strong winds getting worse from mid-morning. The most notables include 1309 Common Tern, 4688 Sandwich Tern, 46 Arctic Skua, 12 Fulmar, two Fulmar, two Sooty, four Manx and 30 Balearic Shearwater. Vismig included 89 Sand Martin and 412 Swallow. #kentbirding

Sea watching yesterday morning was certainly worthwhile, with Leach's Petrel, Grey Phalarope, 3 Little Auks, 2 Sooty Shearwater and over 3000 Razorbill and 1000 Kittiwake. We also had over 3500 Starling coming in off over the sea. @dungenessbirdobs.bsky.social
