This is like reporting George Wallace's "segregation forever" speech as "Governor speaks at inauguration. Some remarks controversial."

This models how science is being dismantled and replaced with absurd claims that support targeting scapegoats. The targeting is so wide that it claims that being educated and respectful around gender makes one violent. It is a part of a movement to label LGBTQ people, academics, etc. as terrorists.

We are in the stage of fascism where even those who are engaging in some kind of resistance are moderating their words and actions to stay out of trouble. The level of perceived and actual danger is high. I still believe in us, in resistance and in hope.

Almost half of trans people in the U.S. want to leave. Many are trapped. Leaving is incredibly difficult, especially for those who are parents, disabled, without resources, etc.
