Michigan State Senate Majority Whip | Notre Dame ☘️ | Ray Wert’s ginger half | Noa's mom
Today, I'm announcing that I am suspending my campaign for United States Senate.
250 years ago, our Founders built something new: a nation governed by the people, endowed with the unalienable rights to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. The work toward a "more perfect union" is far from finished. At 250, it's just beginning. It's on all of us to keep it alive. 🇺🇸
People are nervous about the progression of AI in our everyday lives. Washington whipped on regulating social media and Big Tech with devastating consequences. We cannot afford to make the same mistake with AI.
We have to start regulating AI and Big Tech like the product it is. We’ve made some great progress in Michigan, but we need our federal partners to do the same.
When we get to Washington here’s what we’ll do: ✅ Fight Trump’s Corruption ✅ Protect our Kids and Families
If you send me to Washington, this is what I’ll fight for:
Like AG @dananessel.bsky.social said, when the federal government refuses to regulate AI and keeps the same CEOs who fight against any sensible regulations too close, it’s on states like Michigan to step up to lead.
We have to open the Gordie Howe Bridge. The failure to open the bridge is a stunning example of corruption under Donald Trump.
Michiganders don't see themselves in political boxes, and neither do I. That's why so many people can see themselves in this campaign.

Everyday prices are too high, and Michigan families are feeling the impact of Trump's tariffs. Trump’s tariffs are a policy failure and a tax on hardworking Michiganders.
This Presidency is nothing but a grift operation, and while so many Michiganders wonder where the jobs or the lower costs he promised are, Trump has already made $1B off of his second term.
Trump made more than $1 billion on crypto deals last year, a new disclosure report shows.
We should take Trump’s threats to our elections seriously – but we shouldn’t let him scare us out of voting. In Michigan, we’ve made it easier and safer to vote. So find your polling place, sample ballot, and absentee and early voting info at Michigan.gov/vote - and make sure to vote by August 4th!
The same court that torched Roe, handed the President a get-out-of-jail-free card, and took a chainsaw to the Voting Rights Act, just decided that a billionaire who’s legally capped at giving $7,000 to Mike Rogers’ campaign can now give the party $132,900 to spend directly on Mike Rogers anyway.
Why was a ribbon cutting ceremony to open the Gordie Howe bridge abruptly canceled a few weeks back? The Trump administration won’t say. Meanwhile, what we do know is that the billionaire owners of the competing Ambassador bridge donated a million bucks to a Trump super PAC,...
We must document every single rule and norm that Trump has violated — that is not illegal but should be — and pass it into law. We cannot have someone else come in and abuse this office the way that Donald Trump has ever again.
Thank you to the Sikh Society of Michigan for inviting me on Sunday to the Sterling Heights Gurdwara. It was an honor to meet the Sangat and receive such a warm welcome from all of the aunties and uncles.

The United States under President Trump forced the abrupt cancellation of a ribbon cutting ceremony and the opening of the Gordie Howe bridge. Meanwhile, a few months back, the Maroun family - who owns the competing Ambassador Bridge - donated a million dollars to a Trump super PAC.
Too many are afraid to acknowledge how we got here. Trump didn’t get us into this mess. It was years, if not decades, of policy decisions that left too many people out as politicians and the system increasingly served itself.

How do we beat Mike Rogers? By making sure everyone knows who he ACTUALLY fights for. It’s not Michiganders. It’s Donald Trump.
The President is holding hostage the most significant federal housing legislation we’ve seen in decades — canceling an opportunity to build more homes and drive your costs down in the middle of a cost-of-living crisis. His ransom? Your right to vote.
How do we fix Social Security? If we lifted the payroll tax cap to ensure everyone pays their fair share, Social Security would be solvent for decades. Elon Musk just became the world’s first trillionaire, but he pays the same into social security that a teacher does. Pay your fair share.
Your government works for YOU. And the right to vote is not a bargaining chip. It is not something that a president gets to dangle over your head until you give him what he wants. The people of Michigan are not pawns in this game.
