It has been a busy few weeks but I was able to play games! Small Islands is a quick tile‑laying strategy game where players build an archipelago and score by completing secret objectives on the islands they help create. Fast to play and lots of replayability. The new gamers really enjoyed it!

The back of the tiles that say small islands on an image of a piece of wood.Tiles with water and terrain laid out orthogonally adjacent to each other. Player pieces on some of the islands.

I can always tell when my mum has been on social media. 🤣 "Ohhhh I saw some fasting printing PLAY on sale. Do you have that? You should get some." (She means PLA) Or "Are you buying a new Xbox? You should wait. Prices are going up. No chips, I think."🤔 She isn't wrong...but it is so random lol

Shapely is a quick build‑and‑guess party game. Draw a Shape Card, build it in secret, then everyone uses Guessing Cards to match each creation to the prompt. Score points when: ☆ someone guesses your shape ☆ you guess theirs Party games aren’t usually my thing but this one was fun! 😊

Some wooden shapes beside and on a black card. Also on the card is a smaller prompt card with the word turtle. To the right of this card are prompt guessing cards numbered 2,1, and 4.The main board where player tokens are at the top of the board in a row. Below thst are a row of prompt cards. Below that is the score track.

World Order is a mid‑weight geopolitical strategy game where you play cards to influence regions and respond to global events. There is a learning curve but it is more accessible than Hegemony. The theme isn’t really my thing, I liked it. It had enough depth to keep me engaged. ☺️

Player cards in a wooden card holder and a player aid.
