I've long held that the education system in Britain (and evidently in the US as well) has basically nothing to do with actually educating people and everything to do with churning out adequate test scores and office workers. If any actual education happens, that's just an optional side-effect.

I swear to God, part of the problem of literacy is that we make kids read SO MANY books like this. Of course they’re going to associate reading with misery! We put them in a Skinner box and shock them when they read, what did people THINK would happen?

Question for those who watch playthroughs of games: if the game in question is the kind with level-ups and attendant stat allocations and that kind of thing, do you prefer to see such things in the video, or do you prefer that they just skip over it and stick to the actual gameplay?

A tabletop game that takes place during a breakout at a secret science facility, where you play as the frightened scientists and in-over-their-head security guards caught up in the event. I'm thinking it could be called "Scientists Terrified Amidst Hostile Peril", or STAHP for short.

I never did get around to beating Baldur's Gate 3. I should probably get around to doing that, shouldn't I? Though I might use the party limit removal mod, just so I don't have to worry about missing out on companion-specific dialogue.
