Submitting to the journal that I got the waifu paper into has been a regular humiliation ritual because, with every submission, it has been bounced back by the editorial assistant for a requirement that did not exist for the previous submission.

Everyone should cite my waifu paper because it’s really funny to have the word waifu appear in the scientific literature. It’s also genuinely important to the future of relationships, but funny too. My supervisor today: “put me on one of those papers so I can also be one of the weird kids”

It’s starting to be genuinely concerning to me the number of high schoolers and undergrads who believe they are doing publishable solo research because they are using AI to write the paper.

What do you do when you know a statistic is bullshit but you can’t find a better one? I know for a fact 1/7 people on this earth aren’t using AI, but all the sources I find keep citing each other.
