Day behind 😅 I usually know the ending before I know the beginning. It comes to me easier anyway.. Now for the end of my current project/series... still working that out. This past week I've wanted to set 🧨 to my current ending and go for the unexpected. Bonus: Revising w/ feedback! #CRPShrikes

Considering camp was during the last two weeks of the semester, I'm pretty proud that I was able to finish redrafting one entire chapter and get a solid start on a second. Did I avoid doing work? Yes. Yes I did. Was it worth it? Also yes. Will I pay for it later? Probably. #crpshrikes #camprevpit

It's definitely true that I have a solid understanding of my book's ending down. What's left for me to really figure out is how (if at all) I finalize it as the duology I imagine it being. Where "Book 1" ends, that's settled. How the rest fits in, well... still working through that. #CRPShrikes

I usually know the ending before I know the beginning!! I initially conceive of my projects more in terms of vibes and themes, so the first thing I figure out is how a story arc could reflect the themes I want to work with then the issue is figuring out where to begin… #camprevpit #crpshrikes

Keep writing, hope it comes to me before I get there? I mean, it hasn’t yet, but maybe it will? I know roughly how this book and the next 2 will end. Details? Who needs ‘em! *nervous laugh* Bonus: finish the new draft. Start preparing for publishing tasks. CRP has been so inspiring. #crpshrikes

I had a collaborative writing project a while back where I had to write a death scene. It wasn't even a major character but it was important to the plot, so I was very surprised when it hit me so hard. I had tears running down my cheeks while I was writing. I'm a crier. #crpshrikes

Suppose I can answer the main and bonus prompts at once here! In my draft, there's a moment when I think the reader will understand completely why Verity has just done something terrible, while simultaneously understanding just how much the other character in the scene hates her for it. #CRPShrikes

Hi #crpshrikes! 🗡️🐦‍⬛ I’m behind on these because i’m in the messy phase of buying a home so I’m gonna do a bunch at once. Fave part: Dialogue. Character voice. Banter. Character-driven humour. Least fave: wtf is plotting. Why must things occur

Absolutely my favourite part is writing character dialogue. There's no question of that, I just love digging into and finding characters' voices and seeing how they interact in my head. The hardest thing for me is usually working in environmental descriptions. #CRPShrikes

I love the middle! I love having established the adventure and setting off. I love winding my way to the ending. I love finding all the small moments that you never expected even from outline. I loathe beginnings. Too many options of where to go and it’s paralyzing. #CRPShrikes #CampRevPit

maybe slightly to the left of the actual prompt, but I really love developing distinct character voices—within the narrative prose specifically, but dialogue too. there’s just something so satisfying about having it all come together and reflect an individual personality #camprevpit #crpshrikes

#CRPShrikes Definitely dialogue. I can hear it in my head, so I'm better able to bring distinct voices into being. It's so much easier to know when I'm doing too much or not enough, because I feel like I have a good sense of how people talk. On the other hand, there's the bonus question...

Camp so far has been giving me a lot of reason to go back and look over parts of my draft I feel really good about. Of course even in those areas I can keep making improvements, and it motivates me to do the work I have to to make more of the book be "the parts I feel really good about"! #CRPShrikes

On one hand, I'm in line with my goals: socialize and connect with other writers! On the other hand, I wish I had time to work on my WIP. Camp has been during two incredibly busy weeks and I wish I had time to actually jump in on some sprints or even do a crawl! 😭 #CRPShrikes #CampRevPit

#CRPShrikes Sigh. Minimal progress last week, only one night of writing. I had a blast with my swaps, so there's that. But on my own project, very little. My goals haven't shifted, since mostly I just wanted to participate and experience it, but I'm hoping to have a better week coming up.
