Equal Right is in Il Ngwesi Conservancy, Laikipia, for the launch of the Climate Commons Fund. Milestones: 📜 Constitution signed 🤝 Climate Commons Committee established 💚 First community draw with lump-sum winners selected Community ownership. Unconditional payments. Long-term wealth.

Today, our Executive Director, Dr Patrick Brown, visited the AGNES Nairobi office for discussions on advancing Cash for Conservation across Africa. The conversation explored how stronger partnerships, evidence and policy engagement can help turn innovative climate finance into practical action.

"Isn't this just welfare?" "Won't it create dependency?" "What happens when the money runs out?" We've answered the seven questions we hear most about the Climate Commons Fund. No spin. Just the model. #BasicIncome #ClimateCommonsFund #ClimateFinance

What if the best way to protect nature is to invest in the people who protect it? That's the idea behind the Climate Commons Fund: direct, unconditional cash that strengthens communities and helps nature thrive. #ClimateJustice #ClimateFinance #BasicIncome

What if climate finance kept paying long after the project ended? That is the idea behind the Climate Commons Fund. One unconditional cash transfer becomes a permanent Conservation Dividend that grows as climate finance increases and ecosystems recover. #ClimateFinance #ClimateJustice

Yesterday we shared a preview. Today we dive deeper. We explain how the Climate Commons Fund works and why this first-of-its-kind model could transform conservation finance by putting communities at its centre. We'd love to hear your questions, ideas, and biggest takeaways.
