This is the second incident I have seen this week where someone who had strong feelings about a topic came crashing into a Black woman’s mentions to essentially accuse her of spreading misinformation and both times it’s clear the person didn’t consider what it means to do that to a Black woman

I’m gonna make a general comment here: every person who comes into a Black woman’s mentions to say she doesn’t know her intellectual place thinks that race and gender has nothing to do with it. BUT: The decision not to consider how Black women are targeted before commenting is itself misogynoir.

really don't like when pieces like this bring up the carceral state or a carceral mindset when talking about someone who is facing purely social consequences. i think it's really dangerous to frame any & all negative reactions to terrible behavior as carceral. it does not help the work of abolition.
