On a more serious note, whenever someone says they want a US Franco, they mean they want an American president to violently repress “enemies.” The regime was an economic failure and depended on the US to keep it afloat. So why would Americans want this type of leadership other than violence?

Cut off all trade with Spain, please. Including visits. We don't want anything to do. They're hopeless. Bad people."
