Feelings of grief come in waves; they may pull us under, flow around us, lift us up. There's always sand beneath them, upon which we've walked with our loved ones. Kissed by the sun, cooled by gentle breezes. Memories keep us close as foot by paw, or hand in hand, we'll always have our sand.

It just started raining and my conservatory is no longer as hot as a Frobisher room. Raindrops are literally evaporating on my forehead, like spittle on a hot clothes iron. And the trees are dancing in a cooling breeze.

They came and shared their shades, whilst their long shadows stretched across parched fileds. Contemplating the temporary shielding of the fiery sun by our kind old moon, checking memories captured in selfie mode. They left as they arrived, silently. Mesmerised by the natural world. #Eclipse2026
