One post called these kinds of people “extremely online tenderqueers” and honestly, it feels so real. Like the language used isn’t what community organizers use, it’s what people use in their siloed off discord server that they never leave. It reeks of rampant detachment from societal interaction.
One of the reasons I think this went viral even in queer circles is because everyone has seen this dynamic play out in some form in our spaces. We need a better way to root out toxic people utilizing the language of liberation in narcissistic and sociopathic ways to dominate spaces.
