sometimes a game makes you so crazy you draw an 11 pg comic I just REALLY needed to express what SHE was seeing when she looked at Winn. what they used to be vs what they are now

also really enjoyed drawing these baby nixa faces. I finally saw her updated ref, so I wanted to get to know her

Sketches. River Realm people and such

A bunch of sketches, some coloured, of fantasy medieval people

Perplexing Ruins @perplexingruins.bsky.social · last wk.

Ended up smaller than initially intended, but I liked all the white space - hopefully will make a nice piece of corner spot art for someone 🤷

#HELLBREAKERS (chapter 3) poor nixa is trying her fucking best to understand what the Fuck is going on with Winn + their friend + the child that hangs around them

A grayscale image of three people cleaning up a graveyard. The text labels them: FORMER LOVER THEIR EX-NAVY SAILOR FRIEND (?) (THEIR?) 12 YEAR OLD CHILD

A woman stands looking at this. The text box notes she’s trying to figure out the situation. She asks, “so… are you guys… partners?”

They all stars at her blankly. The sailor says, “Partners…?” The former lover says, “huh? No…?” The child just looks.

A closeup of the woman’s face. She says, oh.” While WHAT IS HAPPENING? floats over her face.

To whoever came up with that "avoid zooming in when working on digital art": you're right but, and this is the crux of my counterargument, me dumb🤷‍♂️

#HELLBREAKERS friendly spar with my homie ethran (still figuring out how to draw them)

A grayscale drawing of two people sparring; one kicks the legs out from under the other.

The person who kicked out the other's legs leans down, offering them a hand up.

#HELLBREAKERS (chapter 3) u know it's bad for you when the urchin you're trying to take care of is asking people to take care of YOU

A grayscale drawing. A child seriously puts their hand on a halfling man’s shoulder. They say, “Polliver?” He answers, “yes?” They continue, “can you look out for winn? While you’re out of town?” With a very weary expression: “they need all the help they can get.”

#HELLBREAKERS (chapter 3) Valerra's Very Accurate Review of Winn's Friends

VALERRA'S REVIEW OF WINN'S FRIENDS

Polliver: Very reliable, very scammable
Serado: Unscammable, the only person less reliable than Winn
Hilde: Clearly reliable, unscammable

Valerra: ... and then there's this guy.

WINN: unreliable, too easy to scam

Valerra: It's not even fun, they just... give me stuff. Clearly they need someone to look out for them, or who knows what they'd give away!

#HELLBREAKERS still trying to figure out ethran, drew one of those charming moments where winn expects nothing and is shocked when they receive kindness they don't need to beg for

A grayscale drawing; one person scratches the back of their neck. They say, "So, I'm sorry for getting your breakfast just to ask a favor, but... would you mind sparring with Valerra every few days while I'm away? I just--"

The person next to them, eating a doughnut, says, "Sure. What are you drilling her on?"

Winn shocked face. "oh. really? uh, thank you."

my dnd half elf from the in person (!!) game i was really hopeful about last year 🖤 we only got one session in before the dm flipped his lid but i still miss my quirked up guyyyyyy

Digital sketches of a half-elf adventurer, dressed in grimy clothes and actively dirty. His hair is scruffy and tangled in the present, but a little sketch in the top-right shows him cleaned up just a few years before now.... a sketch at the bottom has him confronted by one of his creditors. He says nervously, "Oh! Davie! How goes it, how's your mom? Yeah so I JUST got paid, saved it for you of course--" (this is a lie.)

#HELLBREAKERS (chapter 3) festival day continues

A child in a floppy hood eats a pretzel and says with her mouth full, “… so, yeah, Xerra gave me the coat. I’ve been getting them to gimme free breads and stuff, too!”

Winn, nodding which a narrator box points to them and says, “asked xerra to feed her while they were gone.”

#HELLBREAKERS (backstory) meeting roswinn vass, then and now

4716 - isger (provincial militia)
A grayscale picture of a woman in armor standing under armches and watching a training bout. A close up of her, and she thinks, "... this is it."

The woman thinks, a similar face hovering behind hers.
"I might be wearing my mother's armor— —- but I'm here on my own merits not as Fatima's daughter. I'll be judged by my own accomplishments...... assuming | have any."

The person before her stands, confident. Text labels them: posture, confidence, expensive kit. Conclusoon: professional mercenary. They ask, "Well? You up for it?"
She thinks, nervously, Fuck. My mother's armor. They think I'm a fellow professional, not a new recruit. But if I decline, I'l look like a coward! She says, "ah... well.."
