A river to my people.

OK while I'm on defense about hifi aesthetics: The only speakers I might prefer to the Carvers are Bowers and Wilkins 800 series speakers, which sometimes show up for manageable prices used. But MK thinks they look like penises wearing another penis as a hat and have no place in a living room.

Elegant streamlined B&W speakers with their iconic tweeter dome resting atop a rounded driver housing.

See, this is the stuff that's visiting the hifi shop is good for. There is ZERO chance I would ever buy these. But they sounded absolutely amazing just through a decent-but-unremarkable pair of floorstanding speakers. For the diminutive size they seem miraculous. holthill.com/collections/...

Winding down this rainy day at the hi-fi shop. Highly recommend becoming friends with people who run shops like these because then you can just go listen to your favorite music for two hours on 30k sound systems and then go home.

I have spent the entire morning prepping potatoes in large measure because I woke up yearning for the rarely-open family diner near my college: The Queen Bee. I am going to spend my entire life trying to correctly create their breakfast skillet: a scaling hot mountain of potatoes, peppers, and meat.
