The Origin of Beer. In Balto-Finnic folk poetry the first beer is brewed by Osmotar. I made this piece for the Feared and Worshipped (Pelätyt ja Palvotut) collective's Pohjola/North art exhibition and zine.
Kallas. When they slowly deemed the old faiths as heresy, they dared to call themselves saviors.
As an artist on social media you might get a few specific hit posts, most of them tend to be doodles or meme-y pieces. It's sometimes hard to feel appreciated when your bigger, more worked on and deeper illustrations don't necessarily get a lot of hype. (Thought queue incoming ->)
I'm honestly so filled with happiness that this piece has gotten so much love. 🥹 Thank you everyone. I'd love to do more art like this, but as I am very validation-driven person, this makes me also feel very appreciated at what I do.

Queue - I love to hide symbolism in my art. Corvus is the latin word for raven, but also the name of a small constellation! The stars in this piece are intentionally arranged similarly. I feel like the crows portrayed are singing to their stars, as one would sing to a god or maybe an ancestor.

We made a roadtrip to Finnmark in Norway after +15 years and not gonna lie, I miss the fjords, the fjelds and the mountains. Even the Arctic Sea, no matter how much it terrifies me like I'm actually staring ay the edge of the world.
