Frustrating tImes. Been trying to get @meansmagazine.bsky.social in local shops - all the ones in Brighton refuse to talk about it in person, and never answer emails. Not sure how anyone gets stock in shops - maybe we are just not ‘cool’ enough? not really sure where to go from here.
I'm not saying the UK grassroots is fucked, but... 3 out of 4 of the labels I approached about a new release responded saying 'I'd consider releasing it, but I'm actually closing the label down soon because sales are so bad'. 2026/27 is going to be really rough for the scene :(

Any UK artists/musicians/labels/promoters interested in joining together to write bids / get funding? It looks like the government is actively pumping money into grassroots things (finally!) but its unlikely individuals will be eligible. Would love to team up with others to access it...

Goddamn it - the new Menzingers album is actually quite good. I always think they can't keep making mediocre music strangely beguiling, but there they go again.
