A discarded SpaceX rocket will crash into the moon this coming Wednesday, early in the morning (2:30~ ET). The actual rocket won’t be visible from earth but the large plume of debris will. The crash should be visible near the Einstein crater (circled below). #space #astronomy

I photographed the Butterfly nebula (IC 1318) over the past 3 nights from my backyard! I had a lot of fun with this one, both in capturing and processing. Nerd details in the alt text. #astrophotography #photography #astronomy #space

I know front runners got nerfed last patch but I still think she’s going to be busted for the Leo cup. #umamusume
New night, clear skies, new project. If you can guess what this target is from this frame I’ll be impressed (no peeking at the alt text) #astrophotography
I photographed M5 last month from my driveway. In the uncropped version, you can see an object in the the bottom left that did not follow tracking. I'm not sure what it was, but most likely an asteroid of some kind. If anyone knows feel free to chime in. #astronomy #astrophotography #photography
If age verification using ID is implemented I will probably disappear here unfortunately. Part of the appeal of the internet for me is not using my real name or information.
Any UK Space experts on here? The UK Space Agency is seeking nominations for two new members of the Space Technology Advisory Committee.

Idk why recently but the quality of posts on the site seems to have dipped dramatically the past few weeks. A lot more engagement bait, dogpiling, and really terrible takes.
I was thinking about #astronomy outreach recently. I know y’all love your smart scopes for outreach, but I’ve found they’ve been decidedly unpopular at events I’ve attended. Most people are disappointed they can’t look at the object directly and equate it with looking up a photo on their phone. 1/2
PC is alive, after a couple set backs. The graphics card was salvageable after all, but I’m never getting that kind of motherboard again.
I have been still doing photography, I just can’t process anything until I have a computer again. Hoping to be back at it by next week.
Banning anonymous posting is an awful take. Making people use their real names will force the internet into a sterilized wasteland. All the enjoyable parts you like will be gone. No more pirated media or remotely controversial content. After all, you could lose your job over a 10 year old post.
I remain of the view that regulation of social media is better than a ban for young people. But I also pretty much agree with all these proposals.
Of course it’s cloudy tonight when the Venus/Jupiter conjunction is happening 😔
Really annoyed at High Point Scientific posting “reviews” of gear they’re selling on their YouTube that are just glorified advertisements.
Not that I really stream much anymore, but my PC died a few days ago. Might be an issue with the cooler or the power supply but I’m not sure. I did some troubleshooting and thought I had it fixed, but apparently not because the next day it died again. It’s at the the repair shop now.
Markarian's chain of galaxies, as shot from my backyard. This group of galaxies can be easily seen with a telescope just above the constellation Virgo. #photography #astrophotography #astronomy #space
@magic.wizards.com can we please have standard back? I miss low power magic where crappy commons and uncommons from a set would see play to flesh out decks. I miss the games not being decided by fast snow ball threats that if they stick on turn 2 you lose immediately. 1/3 🧵
Topaz Denoise used to be a legitimate image editing tool. This is just embarrassing.
Oof and yikes that’s um hideous
It was a wonderful night for observing; even with the local light pollution I was able to see some globular clusters (m5 and m13) and a couple of the galaxies in the Leo triplet!
Photographed the Wasp star cluster last night (NGC 6633). The cluster is about the same size as the moon in the night sky, and can been seen early in the morning this time of year. #astrophotography #astronomy #photography #space

Turns out I can get a decent few of the southern side of the sky, but not for long with all the trees around. I split my project time as a result. I hope to have one finished over the next couple days.
Very excited to announce I recently had one of my photos featured in the Strange Pear gallery as a winner of their Space Jam contest, sponsored by the National Space Society.
I have a print shop now! If you want a copy of one of my photos for your wall, or just want to support me, check it out! www.inprnt.com/gallery/twoi...

I think they somehow made image hosting worse on this site it really butchered the quality of my last post
Bode's galaxy and the Cigar galaxy. I spent three nights photographing this pair of galaxies from my driveway using a monochrome camera and filters. #astrophotography #astronomy #photography #space
