Those who have experienced trauma and loss are often the most compassionate and generous people I have ever met. It's another reason welcoming refugees is good for our society . Those that oppose welcoming refugees are often not just miserly towards immigrants they are miserly to everyone.

The @dailymail.co.uk is now fact-checking a far-right conspiracy theory about the #Southport attack. It sickens me that from the moment of the attack, people have been using the tragedy to score political points.

It was an honour to attend a round table hosted by the Foreign Secretary David Lammy to discuss the actions the UK is taking on child welfare reform and potential opportunities to work together and drive change for children and families worldwide.
Child marriage is a form of legalized sexual abuse of children. It is immoral for nine-year-old girls to be married off to men in their forties & fifties. It often occurs in rural areas or among displaced or other vulnerable communities facing poverty and destitution. We need holistic solutions.
