I’m not mad, bc I know it’s a biz, and my health team deserves their pay in order to live. But I’m still sad I have to get a new therapist eventually. My account was sent to collections. It’ll never be the same. I’ve saw her from the end of 2019. The biggest things in my life happened since then.
I think I’ve been triggered the past two days. Is that weird? Genuine question. 😕
If I cry about Dolly I’m gonna need to take the rest of the day bc I haven’t cried about Grandma in a few and she loved Dolly and Dolly‘s music makes me think of her
Who’s writing this fucking timeline
Actor Tim Curry has died at 80, TMZ reports
Today I realized my deaf accent intensifies when I’m exhausted I was promptly reminded of the irony that automatic captions can’t tell what I tried to say “meanings” came out as “meedings” captioned as “meetings”

There is something so frustrating about watching basically every staff sports writer completely mangle this story about transphobia in the WNBA, while so many trans journalists who would do a great job (and who have been pitching stories about this!) are struggling to get hired and make ends meet.
Life after loss is so fking weird. Even as I continually live through it. Like what do mean I lose all bearings at a moment’s notice? What do you mean I have a monthly existential crisis?
Knowing how rejection sensitive dysphoria works is cool and all until you worry so much that you’ve triggered it for someone else that you retreat and isolate, thus increasing the risk of triggering it for someone else
“Less than 2% of workers in the county commute via bus lines so why would we add more lines?” I can’t imagine being so close to the point and still not getting it

Conner Prairie released some gnarly photos this morning of their flooding.
Tonight's Symphony on the Prairie performance at Conner Prairie has been canceled. The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra attributed the closure to flooding. https://fox59.com/indiana-news/live-round-2-of-strong-storms-sweep-through-indiana/
Flooding is very bad in Indy. I’m reading that this fund is a good one to donate to.
The Indianapolis Foundation has set up a fund to help support victims of the recent flooding across Marion County.
We are not flooded but neighborhoods around ours are. It's NUTS to see the White River so high. This city has been developed almost as if there were no river, except in a few spots, and those places are now underwater. The road by the restaurant *by the mall* where we ate last Saturday is gone. 🌊
🚨 Flood Warning issued August 15 at 4:19PM EDT until August 18 at 7:00AM EDT by NWS Indianapolis IN 🚨 Additional Details Here.
Wild lightning and thinder in Indianapolis this morning. While there’s already a statewide disaster emergency from flooding. ☹️
My struggle as a neurodivergent reader of scholarly materials is that Zotero helps me stay organized but it's also SO HARD for me to read and annotate using a device. On one hand... I need to print it out, but on the other hand... I need my notes to be organized and searchable. 😅
🔇 🔇 🔇 My book, Deep Unlearning, is now available for preorders! I don't know how people write so many books because this one took a lot out of me. It turns out, I had a lot to say 😂, with editors cutting out 50k of my words 🫣 ✴️ You can now preorder it at www.simonandschuster.com/books/Deep-U....
CC’s game-losing flop, which happened right after A'ja Wilson’s incredible block that led to Chelsea Gray’s SECOND buzzer-beater three-pointer that won the game by 2 points. I wonder how many Clarkasians called congress. 🤣
I am going to pass out.
AI app ad: “You don’t have time to write newsletters.” Me to whoever that speaks to: If you don’t have time to write it, why should anyone take the time read it?
I knew I was having bad executive functioning issues but yesterday I learned about functional freeze. Pretty sure I’ve been there for a long time. I read that creativity and journaling can help, and I’ve already been writing with pen and paper and finding it helpful in organizing my thoughts.
Oh boy I learned the term “functional freeze” and I’m pretty sure that’s the state I’ve been stuck in for months 😟
When disabled people/many people who work on disability/health pointed to the dangers of this kind of framing since COVID, they were usually mocked ("oh you think everything is eugenics") or ignored. But normalising the idea that the deaths of disabled people are desirable/reassuring is dangerous.
Breaking News: Two deaths in Michigan have been linked to cyclospora. Both people who had the parasite also had underlying health issues.
