🌎Welcome our new PhD student-Wendy Owens Rios @wendyhaeco.bsky.social. Wendy is a lecturer at SUNY Geneseo developing her PhD @sunyesf.bsky.social on soil biogeochemistry, microbial ecology, & plant–soil interactions in forested wetlands impacted by ash decline due to non-native emerald ash borer.
🌱 Novel ecosystems are becoming the norm🌎 In Resurgence & Ecologist, I report on landscapes so altered that returning to a historical baseline is no longer possible🌐 Ecologists now debate how conservation should respond when #ecosystems have no precedent.🧪 #Ecology #Conservation #Biodiversity Read👇

Welcome! Can’t wait to see all cool posts this semester and definitely get some spring pics from Milne library of the countryside @sunygeneseo.bsky.social
We 💙 our new library. Check it out in this short video tour. What do you think?
One thing I love about science now is all the collaborations there are. When I was in school no professors included me in research! Now I include my students on my research and I get coauthorship on several papers that is not my main #ecology discipline.
What you all think is best definition of #succession Teaching #ecology and the history is crazy on all different hypotheses and models. Which classic ecology paper would be best to explain and use as a guide in my own research?
This summer was my first time LA. Love it! The sun! The ocean! Also learned about new plants that I never seen before. Can’t wait to go back
