Perhaps the lesson isn't that we should abandon modern life, but rather that we should remember the value of the natural systems that have always sustained us. The more we understand and care for the Earth around us, the more resilient humans and ecosystems are likely to become.

Someone at a party told me, "AOC is stupid." I replied, "You really need to stop watching Fox. It's turning your brain into porridge. I've listened to AOC question witnesses in House hearings, and she is better at cross-examination than most top-tier trial attorneys." I then found better company.
