The future we were promised is still promising — something I’m studying for the PhD! 🐠 🏝️ 🤖 Of all the #aesthetics from the #2000s, the one called #frutigeraero… Is glossy, skeuomorphic, & saturated. But is more than a #nostalgia for the past, but a nostalgia for the future that could (still) be.
Diving into the 1st community for my #PhD #thesis. The future we were promised: #Frutigeraero is a retrofuturism I grew up with. The skeuomorphic, saturated, soulful look instilled in me a deep optimism for the world. Nostalgia here is both for the past that was and the future that could still be.
