It's close run between bottlenose dolphins (gang coercive sex, infanticide, kidnapping) and Sea Otters (drowning females and using their carcasses for sex; sex so violent that the females die, followed by using their carcasses for sex; also with Harbour seals).

NASA picture of the day today is a real 🏴beauty! This is a composite image of the ~5000yo Callanish Stones on the Isle of Lewis. The amazing Giuseppe Petricca has only gone and photographed the Sun at noon there, every few days, for a whole year. #Dedication 🔭🧪👌 ℹ️: science.nasa.gov/image-articl...
This made me smile. 🦋

So many dead children… so many images of lifeless, broken and bloody little bodies in our feeds, casually appearing in between cats, yoga, beauty and weight loss advice, nutrition tips, sponsored pots on useless products, funny memes… so many dead children. When will it end? FREE PALESTINE 🇵🇸

Worried about AI taking over and what it will do to the planet? Perhaps you could start by refraining to use it to create superfluous images of you in 80s outfits or asking what you shall cook for dinner with the ingredients in your fridge.
Reminder that today is the last day to submit your paper proposals for TAG! We meanwhile return back to our series that explores Exeter through the theme of persistence and loss. On one of the corners of the high street stands the Tudor-looking 229. Appearances are, however, deceptive.
I think our main worry should be the lunatics in power. Remove them, we remove the danger for a nuclear war and can start making real progress on climate change. Simples!
When I was young, we worried about nuclear war. When I got older, we worried about climate change. Now we can worry about both.
Fascists are being told that they can get away with a lot in the UK as long as they target non-whites
I do find odd that we all apparently enjoy the right to enter a hotel uninvited, go to the guest floors, knock on the doors of complete strangers on the grounds that they are not white - and yet not commit any offence.
If you feel like donating to the RNLI, here’s a link. I just have. Their minimum donation is £2: I think it might be nice for them to receive a lot of donations this week, even if they’re mostly very modest. Just so they know a lot of people out here appreciate their work. rnli.org/support-us/g...

This year I am co-organizing session #18 at @tag26exeter.bsky.social with colleagues Sofia Figueiredo-Persson and Trond Lødøen with title "Life, Death and Transformation with Deer through the European Holocene". We are aiming to explore human-animal relations with a particular focus on deer. 1/

Too good not to share: a wooden floor of a #Neolithic house. Unearthed in Alleshausen-Grundwiesen, a wetland settlement at the western rim of the Federsee marshlands, 3020-2700 BC. 📷H. Schlichterle/Landesamt für Denkmalpflege Baden Württemberg 🏺 #archaeology
I am always amazed by the number of people I know who became life coaches or alike. Do you have this too in your network of friends and acquaintances?
What have you been watching that is really easy and uplifting? Any recommendations?
A reminder that you can still submit your abstracts for this year's @tag26exeter.bsky.social until the 7th!!!

The stuff that distracts me when I need to be really focused to work is mind blowing...
I have a dreadful weekend ahead of me and my body decided to malfunction 🙄
This is the letter kids got at the end of Dolly’s Imagination Library. I defy you to read this and not cry.
I know this is a dog eat dog world, but there are real moments of empathy and care and I am always touched by the selfless support that some people show
Heard it on the radio this morning that people from south of the wall (and abroad) are flocking to Scotland for cooler weather. I guess the expression “you don’t come to Scotland for the weather” didn’t age well…
Am I the only one thinking that these things look disturbing in colour? 😅
Here's the replica in the museum at Corbridge Roman Town. A world full of colour.
