Already used this twice to help out my developer friends with zero budget 🧡 AI protections are covered, and if they do get funding for completion, I get paid!

Hey Bluesky, could you help spread the word? My goal for the day is one new sale. Here's a lovely pic of some of the Jeremy Creatures currently available at my shop. Each one is designed and hand-sewed by me and takes many hours to create. jeremycreature.bigcartel.com

For my ENG speaking followers Unprecedented High School blockades began in the outskirts of Paris in Créteil on the 21st of Sept. National mobilisations followed on the 29th of September, the 1st and the 6th of October. The movement is ongoing and has spread both in scope and scale. #tippingpoint

I feel like there's a "rot" in the voiceover industry right now. It's something that's probably always been there, but I think it's been progressively getting worse. There's this strange attitude that can basically be summed up as, "F*ck y'all. I got mine." And I'd like to talk about it. 🧵

Harry Potter is one rich lady using all her profits to disproportionately fuel a global wave of bigotry and hatred. To the extent regular people reap any downwind employment it is project to project on film/tv/games. And there are ENDLESS other stories and worlds to be a fan of in its place.

Kingdom Hearts x Quest 64 (yes, I spent way too much time on this 😅)

Although this episode came out in 2004, it’s about the current climate surrounding AI.

Apparently the CEO of Hoyo has stated that in the next couple years HoYoverse will “play one of the most pivotal roles in China’s LLM-AI” I straight up don’t know any other game developer making this much of a spectacle out of its AI use. I understand the cultural difference. It’s still alarming.

Anyway here's Mihoyo promoting AI assisted game production including: "Efficiency in Image and Material Generation With very few materials, they can generate character model sheets + 3D models, allowing for the testing of multiple designs and their artistic outcomes." Something to keep an eye on.

I made a game in a week. It's a 30-minute body horror concept about ignoring the call of identity and the fear of pursuing transness in a mature marriage. marinmmiller.itch.io/two-swans

Today, game workers and allies are taking action at Save Our Devs actions across the US and Canada to call out layoffs and corporate greed in the industry and to demand fair first contracts across Microsoft’s gaming studios.

Workers who develop beloved video game franchises are determined to protect human creativity and job quality from corrosive uses of AI.

If it looks like an Amazon delivery and drives like an Amazon delivery, then it's an Amazon delivery, right? Not according to Amazon. Big companies like Amazon have built a vast network of subcontractors who deliver their packages while shielding them from accountability.

If you have articles about someone bringing a guillotine, you show it to us (and provide instructions on how to build for education purposes)

"One Week in Aerlasta" is a fantasy-genre/vaguely slice-of-life game releasing later this month. The core quintet's full of slightly weird human(oid) beings. 😆

Our #whatwefightfor campaign continues with Quality Assurance worker Meri Sutton-Hatcher! "Our expertise, creativity, and love of games can NEVER be replaced. I'm fighting for AI protections because new technology should empower our jobs, not threaten them.”

It has been criminally underreported but Kelsey Pfendler has just rowed solo across the Pacific Ocean from the US coast to Hawaii in record time. A 2,400-mile unsupported journey in 43 days, 17 hours, and 55 minutes. Notably beating the Men’s record by 9 whole days.

No union employees at Blizzard were impacted by today’s bloodbath—and I sincerely doubt that was because the powers that be think that we’re all vital. Odds are, they wanted easy cuts. Status Quo makes you not easy. The best time to unionize was a year ago. The second best time to unionize is now.
