The House just passed its budget resolution, so reconciliation is now officially underway. This is their bill to destroy Medicaid and SNAP while cutting taxes disproportionately for the rich. THIS IS VERY REAL and can be enacted even if all Ds vote no. Thread on what's to come and WHERE TO FIGHT.
Academic Skyers: I am compiling a list of policies and statements from various universities about how they are handling the "pause" in terms of stopping expenditures (or not). Please respond to this post with your institution and materials. THANK YOU!
Our cat has a bad upper respiratory infection. Indoor cat, no other pets. Spouse and I both had upper respiratory infections that lasted a month, just now recovered. Vet is skeptical, says human-cat transmission is unlikely. Really? Virus folks?
So…a student is taking pictures of the final exam with their phone. Is this step one of chatGPT telling them the answers? Or are they just memorializing my incredible work as an exam-writer?
Dear driver, thank you for the equivalent of a bathroom magazine while I waited out this light.

Glad I took down our Christmas tree yesterday, because
Lost my debit card. Looked up the transaction date of the last IRL card use on the bank webpage. Looked in my phone photos for that date and my sleeve was visible in one. Got that jacket out of the closet and there was my card in the pocket. So satisfying.
Any #neuroscience #science folks who have used a gene gun--ever have one that fails to fire? Gas tank full and connected, new batteries. Not ours so I can't take it apart.
