Mae gennym gasgliad newydd! Llyfr y cofnodion o Archif Eglwys Gadeiriol Llandaf - mae'r dyddiadau a drafodir yn cynnwys difrod y rhyfel yn yr eglwys gadeiriol yn 1941 pan ddaeth mwnci tir lloeren Almaenig i'r ochr ddeheuol o'r eglwys gadeiriol. Dewch, gwirfoddolwyr, cymrwch ati!
The second item from the Rolls collection we wanted to highlight which documents the family’s travels is this travel journal. This is the journal of Edward Nevill Macready who travelled in India, Ceylon and Egypt with his wife, Martha S. Rolls, on various trips between 1820 and 1848.
Yr ail eitem o gasgliad Rolls yr oeddem am dynnu sylw atynt yw’r dyddiadur teithio hwn sy’n dogfennu teithiau'r teulu. Dyma ddyddiadur Edward Nevill Macready a deithiodd yn India, Seilón a'r Aifft gyda'i wraig, Martha S. Rolls, rhwng 1820 a 1848.
Tynnwyd y llun yma o gasgliad y Bwrdd Glo 75 mlynedd yn ôl i Ddydd Sul, ar 30 Awst 1951. Gwelwn olygfa dros Waith Phurnacite Duffryn Canol yn Abercwmboi. Agorwyd y gwaith ym 1942, ac fe’i hestynnwyd ym 1951-1952. Caewyd y gwaith ym 1991.
This photo from the National Coal Board collection was taken 75 years ago on Sunday, on 30 August 1951. It shows a view over the Middle Duffryn Phurnacite Plant at Abercwmboi. The plant opened in 1942, and underwent extension work in 1951-1952. It closed in 1991.

As the summer holidays are in full swing and people are off on their travels, here’s a diary we found in one of our parish church collections written by Reverend L.W Williams vicar of Newbridge, on board the S.S Paddington.
Just a reminder - our next Collections Week will be the week beginning Monday 28th September. We will be closed to the public and our staff will be accessioning, cataloguing and repackaging our collections in order to make them more accessible for you!

Mae’n rownd derfynol #SioeGwnArchifGwent, a dros yr wythnosau diwethaf, mae ein staff wedi bod yn arddangos rhai o’r cŵn sydd i’w gweld yn ein casgliadau.
Dechrau’r wythnos rhannwyd lluniau yn dangos y gwaith wrth droed ar hyn o bryd i lanhau’r cyfrolau yn ein casgliad Bwrdd Glo. Yn y clip yma, gallwch weld y broses - a’r gwahaniaeth mae’n ei gwneud!
