hating your art is not a virtue, it's a sign of burn out or mental illness. the same way your muscles ache if you exercise too much or your stomach hurts if you're starving. learn to identify it as a sign you're pushing too hard or expecting too much of yourself somehow and check in with yourself.

Lately I've had both Fleischer Superman, and the New York Central's streamlined Hudsons in mind, so this was inevitable. It'll be a long time before I have a model train layout again, so for now I'll settle for animating my railroad ambitions.

One of my favorite items in my modest little library is a fully intact copy of the April 1936 issue of Esquire (Christmas gift from my wife), and I thought I'd invigorate my battered self by painting my version of that issue's Petty girl.
Pullman snooze, re-edited. I realized her headscarf was the same color as the pillows, so that had to get fixed (Along with an accidental bit of wonky geometry in the background).
I recently completed a Barbie themed commission, which reminded me of this picture I did back in '23. Gotta love doing plastic textures.
A Tin Man study, doubles as an accurate depiction of the current state of mind too.
