While my female character voices are rock solid, steady and dependable, my day-to-day talking voice... flits around. It grows and shrinks, dips up and down, twists and wiggles and flows into the space I make for it. I have, in fact, managed to keep my laffy-taffy voice while making it femme. 🥹🥰
Fun fact, Fields of Mistria was one of the first games where I made a girl character, and gave her my name. Going to play the hell out of it this weekend.

For the record, I am an uncanny, gruesome Hope, and I look forward to getting healthy again so I can (once more) be a vigorous Hope. (I have always described my hope as the hope of bloody knuckles and gritted teeth)
Mabes@mabes3.bsky.social · 2mo agoHope is necessary. Hope is all. But it must be a gruesome and vigorous hope. Uncanny or disconcerting perhaps. A hope that bears through chipped teeth and blood drenched hair, that still believes "people are ultimately good".
A tiny child asked "Can I hug the dinosaur" when they saw the inflatable dinosaurs that are part of our summer reading book displays and 😭🫠💜
About 2.5 weeks supplementing with T gel and I feel comfortable saying it was the right idea.
In bed, teeth brushed, face washed, CPAP all set up, and it wasn't even 10:30. Fingers crossed I can make a habit of this 🤞
It's funny how this is the same sauce for making successful library programs. Never underestimate the impact of letting a weird little goblin share their passion with people.

My dad read comics when he was younger, but had gotten rid of his collection decades ago, except for a couple big ass coffee table collections of strips that I read growing up. If we're talking floppies it was TMNT at the gas station spinning rack.
