I’m a professional cynic but my heart’s not in it💔 Ángel | Illustrator and Comics Colorist | Clients: Boom, Dargaud, IDW, Abrams https://plutomaris.neocities.org

lately i feel so conflicted about how I wanna make money off my art. I wish I could do it for free, give it away for free, but that means doing other things to pay for it and those other things sap my energy, soul, and ability to make art.

was thinking today about how as a guy, girls think i’m hitting on them if i compliment them and don’t implicitly trust me “anymore” and then I remembered both of these things were true even before I transitioned.

i’ve been hand quilting while rewatching Breaking Bad for like the tenth time and now I’m having dreams where I’m helping Marie make a quilt for Hank to encourage him in his recovery???

Breaking Bad has so many actors I think Naoki Urasawa would absolutely nail at drawing, but I’d especially like to see him draw Mike and Gale. They already look like they were drawn by him.

i bend over a lot these days and my knee has started to sound like fireworks going off every time i do, accompanied by a little bit of pain. should probably see a doctor but who can afford that

Imagine holding your own child as his last drop of sight fades forever. Gaza’s cruel reality stole Elias’s first eye, and now his final spark of light is dying. We are helpless, penniless, and broken. On my knees,I beg you:please save my little boy. Verified by: molly shah✅ chuffed.org/project/196611

Elias sitting barefoot on a rug, crying. He's wearing glasses, a patch on his left eye and his right wrist is bandaged

i call this "neoteny of the oppressed" btw. because children are the archetypal objects of legitimate coercion (violence, authority, control, etc) any vulnerable group can have their autonomy stripped by first linking them to children & childlikeness. the comparison legitimizes any act of coercion

Transphobia and the oppression of children are linked to the point that trans adults are often treated like de facto children. One way we see this is how we’re told continually that we don’t understand grown-up politics, as if our political concerns are childish and immature.

i started reading haikei sekensama and so far i’m basically forcing myself to read it 😔 this is waaaaayyy too much about his feelings for a girl. Thats the thing I hate about media about trans guys: they generally assume you’re straight because that’s what a “real boy” would be.

Garden in the Closet isn’t finished yet but it’s also a strong start! Once again, we are not seeing things from the trans guy’s POV (which is extremely frustrating to me) BUT…the “cis” guy doesn’t seem so cis to me (or at least not straight) so I’m gonna look past it

I just finished After School Mate. I really liked this one. The artist had a lot of interesting panels and the story felt more personal than Villain. The trans guy was depicted very accurately, one of the few trans guys in manga i’ve found relatable and who doesn’t shy about saying he’s a guy.

Been reading some manga with trans guys as central characters and it’s been really interesting. Whenever they’re paired with a cis guy, it’s a guy who is also having his own gender/sexuality struggles. So far only one was (kinda) explicitly BL and i’m hoping at least one more will be too.

somehow the building i live in is full of gay and trans people? we’re in the not-yet-gentrified part of a gentrified neighborhood, not a particularly gay area or anything, building’s owned by one cishet dude. feel like he sees us come thru like “huh…another one of these”

does anyone know that article that was titled something like “i can’t have the type of sex i want” and it was by someone who was clearly a repressing gay/bi trans man with bottom dysphoria. I can’t find it for the life of me.
