AuDHDer with special interests in books, books about books, neurodivergence, information literacy... There's a theme here. Secretary @NLISN Librarian @QAHE
And that’s #NLISN26 done and dusted! I am buzzing with happiness and exhaustion. Having a space where everyone felt able to unmask, fidget and be themselves was amazing. Here’s to the power of neurodiversity and community! Now, I’m off to sleep for a couple of days…
Sharks required to cheer up the depressing part of the presentation! Things will only get better from now! #NLISN26
It’s begun! We have neurotype stickers, NLISN stickers, shark stickers, fidgets on every table, play dough… #NLISN26
Tomorrow’s the day! The first ever @nlisn.bsky.social conference kicks off tomorrow, and I am so excited! It feels really special to take part in organising a conference where we put a lot of thought into sensory needs and neurodivergent needs. Counting down the hours!

We've just signed a contact with @facetpublishing.bsky.social for a neurodiverse library book, yet again that's @ahaire.bsky.social and I (which is already half written, whoops!)
And this one again with Amelia (it was nice to have a bit of a rant about #infolit again). informationmatters.org/2026/05/neur...

After years of struggling to write anything, it's quite pleasing the brain fog is lifting enough to produce some written words again! Especially thanks to Amelia as a co-author. We've got this piece with @jofitz.bsky.social and @ahaire.bsky.social journals.ucc.ie/index.php/hs...

Ever since seeing Kirsten MacQuarrie’s talk at #CALC26, I knew I HAD to read this book. Inspiring, important and indispensable (oh the joys of alliteration)
What a day! My #CALC26 present came today after I won the raffle-esque wheel the first day.. I am so excited to read this 📚📚📚
Oh, a PDF of an article @ahaire.bsky.social @jofitz.bsky.social and I wrote about @nlisn.bsky.social has just dropped into my email for final checks! Hopefully that means not long until publication:)

@playbrarian.uk and I are writing a book! Andy has been so kind throughout the process, and I have already learnt so much. (Primarily how jealous I am that he works from the beach). We're up to 14,000 words now- shows the power of writing about your special interest! #NeurodivergentLibrarians

I got to go to the London Book Fair yesterday, what fun! Really interesting talks about AI, responsibility and of course, we were surrounded by books! I also felt very lucky to see the wonderful @alisonhicks0.bsky.social chair an important panel on Book Banning (w/Juno Dawson!!)
New episode alert! I had the absolute joy of joining Chatting Info Lit and to talk about my dissertation: what I researched, what surprised me, and how it still shapes the way I think about information literacy today. 🎧 Episode link: open.spotify.com/episode/79bD...

It's quite hard to be autistic in a neurotypical world. I've been experiencing autistic burnout like never before at the moment, but something that's helped is seeing other Autistics, AuDHDer's, and ADHDer's talk about their experiences on here. (Having a brilliant supervisor helps too).
This is the first time I've been cited, what an honour to have it be about a topic as important as this one! An excellent read.
"... best practices are better implemented as the default so that all candidates, regardless of whether they are neurodivergent or neurotypical, can benefit without the added burden of disclosure at potential personal risk."
We will be closing our representation statistics survey at some point in the next month, and we have already heard from more than 1000 neurodivergent librarians! #librarians #neurodiversity lancasteruni.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_...

Huge thankyou to CILIP Disability Network for awarding NLISN this Accessibility Award, which has now safely arrived in the post! We won as an organisation so although Jo and Andy are named, this award is for all of us. The committee, the network and all our allies. #cilip #libraries #accessibility
