Elizabeth Johnston Ambrose

I’m a poet, animal lover, camping fanatic, and educator living in Rochester, NY. Medusa scholar. Author of Imago, Dei ( Rattle Chapbook Prize, 2021) and Wild Things (Main Street Rag, 2021). 2025 Betsy Colquitt Poetry Award.

After nearly 8 weeks of being unwell, I’m finally feeling like myself. Last night my BFF and writer-extraordinaire, Maria, and I went to an 80s themed dance party. I felt like I was in middle school and it was so nourishing. Dance = medicine. 💕

Thanks to @robmclennan.bsky.social for publishing my poem about my grandmother and lightening bugs on Dusie <3 FYI: my grandmother pulled through that illness. I'm headed to PA tomorrow to see her and my grandfather (75 yrs of marriage!). Every day is a gift and I've been luckier than most.
