I firmly believe that Dolly and Tim were fated to go first, so Dolly could be the last nice thing awful people were allowed to see, before Tim cackles wildly and pulls the lever to send them down to where they belong. That is how I'm coping with this.

The most helpful I have been is actually going out into my community to see and meet other humans because the second most valuable resource for organizing is TIME, when you do not have the money, you can still give your time! I know this isn't always possible for everyone, but try.

Please yes, there is no reason to cram different aesthetics and settings into D&D 5E. RPGs that cater to what you want to play exist, and frankly, most of them have better rulesets than 5E anyway. You don't have to do anything but Google and get the game, but I promise it's been made already.
