About to start working on a new book, but I still think this one panel from Fake Blood might be the best thing I've ever drawn in my life. For the uninitiated: Fake Blood is about a kid who pretends to be a vampire to impress his vampire-obsessed crush, which goes about as well as you'd expect.

Today marks 9 years since we packed everything we owned into our station wagon, left our house for the last time at 3am to drive to the coast and then onto a ferry that took us to our new home of Canada, where with no friends or family, we started our lives over from square one. Nine years.

I’m not sure we’ve properly addressed how profoundly disturbing it is that America can largely shrug at the stashing of human beings in giant warehouses.

This should set off alarm bells. ONE IN FOUR Canadians experienced food insecurity while TWO OUT OF THREE of those did so while full time employed. And these numbers are rising sharply. There's an upcoming one time tax relief indexed by need but what then?
