Read this thread. Read the replies from people who are vital parts of SFFH publishing. We talk a lot about paying writers and that is mega-important, but the amount of work & dedication (and money) put in by the people who run and maintain zines is pretty much unfathomable. AND most of it is unpaid.

I am burnt out. 7 years into Augur, and I am burned to the ground. I am thinking about how hard it is to maintain these spaces. How much work and time, for free, go into them. How hard it is to start. How many markets close. We aren’t closing. Not now. But something has to give in this space.
