Wait a damn minute. The things Arday did, like the marathons, had been previously covered, with first hand primary sources, by English news orgs, contemporaneously?!?! And yet the Telegraph and others just kept repeating that he'd lied about them, despite tons of documentation they happened?! 🤬🤬🤬

Jason Arday's marathon challenge and football claims found to be true after his death

Claims the late academic made which were widely derided as false in media and online discourse this month appear to be true, an MEE analysis has found

nathan has invented a type of interview that i simply could not refuse: instead of talking about MY book, we talked about KELLY LINK'S book, White Cat, Black Dog. an absolute delight, and a privilege!!

Happy @cvilleweekly.bsky.social day to all who celebrate! We've got a fun one this week, starting with our latest two-person book club with the delightful @alixeharrow.bsky.social, whose THE EVERLASTING is up for a Hugo for Best Novel this year! c-ville.com/author-alix-...

Since this piece touches on themes of sentience and the minds in it are compared to human beings, I'd like to remember folks that his author's opinion is that LLMs ARE NOT and won't ever be anything as nearly as conscious. The story isn't about questioning this and the neurominds are something else!

I'm happy to show you the cover for my short story "Audit of the Collapse and Convalescence of Minds", coming next month to @reactorsff.bsky.social. This beautiful, enthralling art is by Mirko Ilić. The story is about the limits sentience and about forgiving yourself.

Cover art for short story: It shows Audit of the Collapse and Convalescence of Minds and the author name, Renan Bernardo, below. It shows a vintage-style android with goggling eyes and metal layers on its neck. Half of its head is fused with a female's head and their eyes intersect and shed a tear.

Suspense is not created by your audience not knowing what happens next. It's created by your audience CARING what happens next.

www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/h... I really love this — the notion that it's about feelings, not plot twists. I wish more stories took this approach. Yes, even thrillers. Twists are rarely as surprising as the choices people make from the heart.

Yearning! Mercury poisoning! Demonic possession! THE POSSESSION OF ALBA DÍAZ is now available in paperback (the best reading medium, imo) wherever books are sold! ...but there's even more coming your way soon. I have written 200,000 words of new fiction this year. I have so MUCH to tell you!!

Singing Hills #8! Wandering cleric Chih and perfect hoopoe companion Almost Brilliant arrive at the imperial palace for a celebration of the life of the Empress of Salt and Fortune, where the food's amazing, the service is exemplary, and the clothes? Well, the clothes are just to die for. :P

A book cover on a tan background. The cover features a red kingfisher draped with a scrape of blue fabric, with a mirrored design on the lower corners of a threaded needle, and shears on the verge of cutting a twisting ribbon.
