Mallorca update: H and I are sat on the balcony overlooking Pollença Bay and he’s playing Pokémon Go and I’m drinking beer. We both agree that going for the walk that everyone else has gone on ‘just to go shopping’ just does not make sense 😂 #Granddadery
Up early to drive to Far de Formentor before the road closed to vehicles. H & R liked the Mallorcan Goats, I liked the Eleonora’s Falcons and Crag Martins as well as driving the twisty mountain road. Later the Roman ruins at Alcudia - and a Hoopoe. Then the beach. Everyone happy!!😃 #MallorcaBirding
Whilst some groceries were being bought, I turned the van around and ‘accidentally’ ended up at the Boquer Valley for an hour 🤔 😊. I just can’t seem to work the satnav 😉. Many Sardinian Warbler, 1 male Blue Rock Thrush and a fair few Spotted Flycatcher were the highlights. #MallorcaBirding #Birds

Excellent pelagic trip today, led by Mike Langman, who spotted three Great Skuas on the sea. We were on board Kelly's Hero out of Brixham. Bonxies as they are known, have been heavily depleted by avian flu and are much rarer than they were a few years ago.

So much for a lie-in; news broke of a Red-necked Phalarope at Roadford Lake so I thought I'd nip down there first thing. A beautiful misty morning but as it cleared with a bit of teamwork, we (@robmurphy.bsky.social & @stephmurphy.bsky.social) relocated the bird. Great company and a good bird.
