Via @rchapoco.bsky.social: Rep. Chip Brown, R-Hollinger's Island, said appointees with experience mandated in the bill could better assess rate requests. The bill does not address a rate making process that critics say locks the public out and prevents proper scrutiny of utilities' rate requests.

There are several education and library-related bills I'll be monitoring when the state legislature starts up next week. One is a re-filed bill with a few amendments from Sen. Elliott, which changes how library boards operate. Gift link for @al.com - www.al.com/news/2026/01...
