We show the US reaped the largest profit increase (USD 275bn) of any country. Big Oil claims this benefits the American people. In fact, 51% went to the richest 1%, only 1% to the bottom 50%. A 🧵

Just noticed that the Gait & Posture guidelines no longer include the statement regarding sample size justification introduced between 2018 and 2019 that sparked our analysis. Wonder what went into that decision?

Justifications might be slightly more common in Gait & Posture since 2022 but not sure describing current practice helps move things much. There were no changes to author/reviewer instructions following our publication, not sure about editorial instructions.
This paper is just out: doi.org/10.7717/peer.... We found that balance training on unstable surfaces in older adults does improve feedback responses to balance perturbations. Effects suggest that this may be mainly due to a decrease in muscle activation reducing an overshoot in the responses.
