I'm not sure folks have realized just how crazy the second half of 2026 and 2027 will be for global temperatures – on the back of a record-smashing El Niño event. Here is my latest estimate of where both years will end up compared to global temperatures since 1850.

One of the most striking aspects of Cassandra's myth isn't that nobody believes her when she predicts disaster. It's that, once disaster comes to pass, everyone blames her, as if she somehow caused it simply by warning them. Funny... that reminds me of something. What was it again?

The #Ulm5 are being made an example of by a political system that is openly comfortable with bending or even ignoring the law for purpose of punishing anyone willing to protest against Israel’s genocide ulm5.info/en/news/2026...

The pious lecture. By Harry Burton @hbtoons.bsky.social for the Irish Examiner. #Ulm5

I was not informed by the BBC that they would have a right wing political figure or lobbyist on after me to rebut what I said. The individual in question went on to spout lies about China, etc. to distract attention from the Trump administration's assault on climate action. This is unacceptable.

I'll be on BBC News television TODAY ~3:40pm ET (8:40pm London local time) to discuss--what else---the climate change-fueled weather extremes we're seeing around the world this summer. Please join me: www.bbc.com/live

It's a point I've been trying to make for a long time: there is no good way to meet even 10% of current demand for animal products. They trash the living world, whichever way you do it. If you want to reduce your impact, switch to a plant-based diet. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

🥵💀🥵🔥 The climate necropolitics of India's Modi and Adani government: This paper estimates heatwave excess deaths across India, due to lack of government data. 30'000 heat deaths due to a 5 day heat wave is roughly 23% above the national average, and it's an underestimate. A HUGE mass death event.

3,400 people die on a single extremely hot day in India. 30,000 in 5 days. Most of the poor aren't even counted. The study calls that a conservative estimate. Mass death is here. My heart is breaking. www.euronews.com/2026/06/10/h...

Sorry not sorry for the next several months of relentless book promotion, I didn't create this system! But for real, though, if you've ever thought anything I do is any good at all, I hope you'll read this book I poured everything into: geni.us/broughttoyouby

The famous "Wedges" paper was used repeatedly to shut us up when we argued against the continued use of fossil fuels, and, esp, against carbon capture and storage and the mass use of bioenergy. "But these eminent scientists say ..." Now we learn BP co-authored it. www.propublica.org/article/wedg...

How BP Execs Influenced a Climate Study That Shaped a Generation of Global Policy

BP sponsored an elite Princeton research center to address the climate problem without getting off fossil fuels. Its key work, a paper known as “Wedges,” guided climate discourse for a generation.
